A Missing Piece
About Us
The idea was simple. Athens had every kind of bar except the one we wanted: a place where the frozen cocktail is the whole point. The name took the old word emporium and rebuilt it around the pour. The doors opened on East Broad in 2022, a rooftop on top, a lounge below it, and a slushie menu in between.
Frozen Cocktails Since 2022...
The rooftop was the deciding factor on the space. The view of East Broad after dark was the kind of thing you build a bar around, not the other way around. The slushie program filled out the rest: classic cocktails turned frozen, a flavor lineup that rotates by the season, and a handful that never leave the menu. Below the rooftop, the lounge holds the main bar with low light, full pours, and a room that fills up as the night does.
The bar still operates on the same principle it opened with: build the night around the drink, not the other way around. Slushies rotate, the cocktail list grows, the rooftop opens and closes with the weather. What stays the same is what the bar is for, which is to give Athens a place that didn't exist before.
We keep it low key
We are located at 364 E Broad St in downtown Athens. Empourium sits just one block away from the UGA Arch. The rooftop provides amazing views of the skyline, downtown, and the University of Georgia. The address is on the door and not much else. 364, the letter E, no flashing sign pulling you in from across the street. A block off the UGA Arch on East Broad, easy to walk past if you're not looking, easy to find once you are. Inside, the stairs go up to the rooftop, the lounge stays on the main floor, and the night opens up from there.

The bar is part of the Hospitality South group of bars, built on the same philosophy and southern hospitality that's shaped downtown nightlife here for over two decades. Every concept serves a different night. This one belongs to the rooftop, the lounge below it, and our specialty frozen cocktails.
Discover Empourium
The rooftop opens to the sky over downtown Athens. String lights, open air, and a view that gets better the later it gets. Downstairs, the lounge holds the main bar, low light, and a room that fills up as the night does. Both spaces run the same drink menu and the same hours. Move between them as the night moves.

The slushie are the first thing you notice. Frozen cocktails on rotation, with new flavors landing every season and a few that never leave the lineup. Past the slushies, the cocktail list runs the classics done properly alongside a handful we built ourselves. Spirits, beer, and wine sit behind the bar for nights you'd rather keep it simple.
